If I told you that in less than 3 days my blog was indexed by Google and other top search engine sites and in less than one{1} month my blog also made the top listing of Google, Msn and Yahoo for my main keywords which are; “make money online today for beginner” and “make money online today for beginners” respectively. Unbelievable! You might say but this is actually true! Read on!

As at the time of this writing, my blog currently ranks number one{1} in Yahoo and Msn for the targeted long-tail keyword “make money online today for beginner and “make money online today for beginners” while at Google my blog ranks number 3,4,5 respectively for the keyword “make money online today for beginner”. In this article, I will reveal to you the secret of my achievements. Well pay attention as am about to share with you my success story in the succeeding paragraphs.

What is the meaning of Seo? PT II

Like I said before in the earlier edition of this post {read on what is the meaning of seo?} that there are two classification of SEO. Well that’s true, they are;

1. Onpage optimization

2. Offpage optimization

Today we shall be looking at the onpage factors only.

1. The onpage factors are as follows; title, header tags, meta tags, unique content, use of major keywords within your article content.

a. The title of your website; This is very important in search engine optimization as its helps the search engine spiders to locate your site.

b. The header tags; These are the headings of your post. They include the h1 and h2 tags respectively, the h1 tags always written as <h1> is the main heading of your article while the h2 tag always written as <h2> is the sub-heading.

For example, the heading of this article you are reading is “what is seo?” You know that is the main heading? And that’s the h1 tag am talking about!

For the h2 tag it might be written as “know the secrets of seo” but in this article a sub heading is not necessary. Note; the important of them is h1 tag as most people don’t make use of sub headings {i mean the h2 tag} while writing a post!

c. Meta tags are in two forms; They are meta tag-description and meta tag-keyword.

i. Meta tag-description; this is when you are telling search engine spiders what your website is all about. Like if you are into golf, you describe your site in so many ways provided is what people are searching for.

For instance, you describe a site that deals in golf as the following; golf tips, golf lessons, beauty of golf, etc…

ii. Meta tag-keyword; This is when you are telling search engine spiders to index for a particular keyword. For instance, like my previous example on golf.

If you want to be ranked on golf then you will probably enter keywords like golf tips, golf lessons, beauty of golf, golf ups and downs, etc…You get the idea now! Isn’t it?

d. Unique content; This is also very essential if you want your website to be index by any of the major three search engines Google, Yahoo, Bing.

If your articles are not unique or you don’t update it regularly {you should be posting articles at least once a week on your site to keep it fresh} then you risk not been considered by the major search engines because search engine spiders love lots of unique content so they keep coming for more!

e. Use of keyword in your aticles content; This is also a key factor for getting optimized by search engines.

Spreading out your major keywords in your articles is very vital because Google spiders make use of this to rank for whatever keyword possible. The best way to go about this is to write on topics relating to your website.

You don’t want to write about fishing when your website deals in real estate? So write on topics that relate to your site.

For example, if you are into money making then you are likely to write on topics like; “how to make money selling cakes”, “10 ways of making money through the internet”, “how to make money selling other people’s product”, etc…

What is Seo?

Seo means Search engine optimization. What is the meaning of search engine optimization as well?

This is when you are trying to rank for certain keywords in the search engines when other people are searching for a particular information online. Again, what are keywords? Keywords are words or phrase people type in the search engines bar when searching for any information online.

For example, someone is looking for information about how to make money online so he type in the word “make money online” or “money making online” or “make money” and within the twinkle of an eye some money making related websites showed up! Am sure you get the idea now?

These means that the owners of the websites which have showed up in the search engine results have properly done their optimization.

I assume you’ll want to find out what search engines are? Well search engines are search robots put in place to guide net surfers search for information online, they are like online dictionary. Well, obviously better than online dictionary! The most popular of them all is Google search, Yahoo search and Bing search {formerly called live}.

Don’t get me wrong as there are other existing search engines such as altavista, Aol, Ask, Excite, Alltheweb… but the fact is these three are by far the best due to the algorithm put in place as all the other ones rely on them. So if your site can be seen by these top three giants then you’ll definitely be seen by the others!

This takes me to the next point of discussion. How do I get my site to show up in these top three giants? How do I get my site in front of millions of internet users who are hungry for information? How do I optimize my website for proper exposure on search engines?

Optimization can be done in two major ways;

1. On-page optimization

2. Off-page optimization
