We will be looking at steps to set up a WordPress blog;

If you read my last article, you’ll discover at the last paragraph I mentioned something about creating a WordPress blog. Yes that’s right! We are going to be creating a WordPress blog for your business. Okay!

Did I hear you ask, Why WordPress blog? Why not blogger or other ones? Well, these are the reasons why;

1. WordPress offers a very powerful content management system with free functionality.

2. WordPress is easy to install as many hosting sites now provide the ability to install WordPress blog just with the single click of a mouse.

3. Managing a WordPress blog is very easy like adding content including text, videos, pictures, etc seem so  easy.

4. WordPress blog are search engine friendly.

So those are the reasons why a WordPress blog is better than the other ones and the preferred choice of so many top internet marketers!

Another thing which I need to talk about here before moving ahead is to tell you that there are two{2} different types of WordPress blog:

1) http://www.wordpress.com(free)
2) http://www.wordpress.org(paid)

1) http://www.wordpress.com can host your site on the internet for free and this is what is often referred to as open source software. This basically means that it is freely available to anyone for use and modify.

Email me whenever; Check the two boxes in front that’s if it has not been checked by default already.

Before a comment appears; It is also advisable you check the two boxes in front as well.

Comment moderation; Check this box as well this means that any comment that contain links should be held for moderation. Very important!

Select the custom structure setting as against the default one, after you’ve done that enter the following information into the empty bar; /%postname%/ and click save. That’s all there is to it!

“No Money For A Lazy Blogger”

Who is a lazy blogger?

Are you a blogger? Are you a new or professional blogger? Are you daring? Do you like outsourcing major part of your work? Do you hate writing? If your answer is yes to the latter question, then you’re probably a lazy blogger. Lazy! Lazy!! Lazy!!!

There is a saying which goes “No food for a lazy man”. If you are lazy it’ll be difficult for you to make headway in life much less online. If you are a blogger and you’re still lazy, am very sorry for you because you won’t make a dime online!

The internet is too competitive for you to be as lazy as a pig! Laziness is an habit which must be overcome on time or else it may ruin one completely. As a professional blogger you can’t just afford to be lazy with the way you do things.

Some bloggers have been in this game for close to 4 years and it may surprise you that they aren’t making money yet! Why? because they have been lazy in the way and manner they carry out their work.

While on the other hand, a blogger who just came in recently have started making cool money online. I know of very young guy called Onibalusi Bamidele who started his blog just last year and now this guy is making serious money from his blog already.

According to this young lad, he said “it took him just 6 months to start making money via his blog”. If you ask him what the secret is, he will tell you it’s simply “hard work” not laziness my friend!

There are several things a lazy blogger would take for granted or don’t do because they always want other people to do it for them.

In conclusion guys, I would love to make reference to the same saying emphasized at the beginning of this article by altering some words in it which is “No money for a lazy blogger”. Got that!

A typical lazy blogger would portray the following characteristics;

1. They hate writing or find it boring.

2. They rarely update their blog.

3. They outsource almost all their work, if not all.

4. They are not creative at all.

5. They don’t make research by reading other blog post or site.

6. They are not advancing their knowledge by reading “anything” readable.

Today we shall be looking at the art of blogging, let me start by defining a blog; What is a blog? A blog formerly called weblog is simply an online journal or an online version of writing newspaper.

People blog for various reasons, maybe because they like to write or feels they have something within them they want to share with the outside world!

Now what is blogging? Blogging is the act of writing in an online way, writing about what? writing on a particular subject of interest like politics, sports, religion, internet marketing, etc…

Getting started with blogging: There are however some very important guidelines to be considered when delving into blogging. These guidelines need to be painstakingly followed if one must be a successful blogger. They are;

1. Choosing a niche

2. Setting up a blog

3. Content

4. Drive traffic

5. Monetize

1. Choosing a niche; Before setting up a blog you need to do what we call research on what best interest you. Ask within yourself “what do I really like doing during my leisure’s?”

To be a successful blogger, you need to be an expert in an area that is people must respect you for what you do on that particular field. Take for instance, you want to focus on “money making” which is a very popular niche. People must be able to look up to you for a professional advice as far “money making” is concerned.

In this case you must choose a niche that really catches your fancy, that is a field that you are more familiar with. It’s not a good idea to go for a niche that you don’t know too well or that you don’t know at all!

Most beginners make mistakes of following what others are doing in a niche, just because money is being made in a particular niche doesn’t mean you’ll make money there! Your interest or passion should be first and money last. That’s the ultimate!

This is really bad because at the end of the day, they end up struggling in such niche and making success becomes almost impossible.

So, my advice is make sure you think it through before making a choice as regards your niche because your online success actually depends on it!

2. Setting up a blog; Setting up a blog is also very vital as the success of your online endeavors depends on it. At this stage you need to garner all ICT knowledge possible! This is also the stage you decide which blogging platform is actually the best for you and your niche.

There are however two most popular blogging platforms; You are either using wordpress or blogger, anyone you choose is “good to go” for your blogging experience.

In terms of simplicity blogger is the best but in terms of sophistication wordpress is unarguably the better off.

Blogger has very simple features such that a newbie can operate while wordpress has more advanced features that adds that professional touch to a blog especially with the additions of plugins.

From experience, I tell you straight away without prejudice that as far as professional blogging is concerned wordpress is still the best option although blogger has it’s own fair share of advantages but I believe blogger won’t give that professional “razzmatazz” when compared to wordpress.

My Guest Post Was Declined Again!

I don’t even know what’s wrong with me. What do you think is wrong with a guy whose site is probably the most promising and fastest growing site online?

I have tried several times to guest post on various site but to no avail. I have tried 2createawebsite, problogger, youngprepro, and the rest they all turned me down.

Infact, I think I should receive an award for having the most turned down guest post in recent times. This is really frustrating for me that I just can’t get things right.

What’s the reason for turning me down? Well, they complain that my post is too generic, common and found on most blogs. What the heck! I wrote this post with my very own hands and they are purely my idea, so I don’t understand what they all mean by being generic!

Although my site is receiving trickles of traffic from search engines and other areas but that isn’t what I want, I want something concrete like receiving 1000 visitors a day will be my type of traffic. That’s a good start for any ambitious blogger who wants to make a living online!

Sometimes I feel more like a failure already especially for an experienced blogger like me who have been in this game for nothing close to 4 years. When I see young fellow blogger who just came in “yesterday” and all of a sudden have their post get approved in various sites I feel even more disappointed.

When you consider the other methods of pulling in traffic, you’ll discover that it’s takes longer time. Be it seo, article submission, social bookmarking, etc. They all take time to achieve results.

If you need quick traffic, guest post is a sure way getting such targetted traffic in a short time. once you are approved and your post is well received by the “populace” on a high traffic site. Bam! Floods of traffic to your site.

Especially for the era that we are in. The era of guest post because everybody is getting crazy about guest post these days even the new blogger are hoping to guest post in order to promote their lactating blogs.

Judging from the influx of bloggers towards these direction, it’s more like all road now leads to “guest posting”.

All the other known methods of getting traffic is a close chapter for now but I believe very soon guest post will go out of trend. My instinct tells me that!

But I don’t want to imagine that for now anyway, What I want is to take full advantage of this moment while it is still the in-thing. Especially when it has to do with getting traffic!
