An Interview With Lisa Irby Of 2Createawebsite.com

Lisa Irby is one of internet marketing divas and very knowledgeable at what she does. Lisa is a household name as she has excelled in the area of website creation, she has helped countless of people build their own site or blog. Most beginners looking for ways to create a website would probably have stumbled upon her popular site called www.2createawebsite.com through major search engines as it tops Google for targeted keywords.

Despite all her achievement, this “web chick” as she’s fondly called has managed to keep her head low. I am really honoured to have her share her experiences with us. We got to talk through mail and I thought I should share it with you my friends. It’s such an undeserving honour to have Lisa speak on this blog. With a lot of respect I present to you Lisa Irby!

May we meet you please! What’s your name in full?

Lisa Irby.

Tell us a bit about your background?

I have a degree in Business Administration have always had a great love for computers.

When did you get to know about internet marketing?

Thirteen years ago (1998) while I was in college.

How did your folks {I mean your spouse, friends, colleagues, etc} take it when they heard about your new found love for online marketing?

Most didn’t understand it.  They thought I was just “playing around”.  But I didn’t reveal a lot until I started making good money.

What were the mistakes you made as a beginner online?

I chose topics I didn’t have enough interest in.

What were the challenges you faced as a beginner?

I had trouble generating traffic mainly because of the answer above.  I kept choosing topics I wasn’t passionate about.

Did you ever think of quitting at a time?

No.  I love this so much. I always thought about my next idea instead of quitting.

I know that you didn’t just make money almost immediately you started, so when was that turning point?

My turning point was in 2002 when I created 2CreateAWebsite.com.  That was my first real tutorial site that offered information that a lot of sites weren’t offering at the time.  That’s when traffic and earnings began to soar.

Reading the contents of your blog one will know that you’re such a prolific writer, what’s the secret?

The secret is to use your own personal experiences as fuel for your content.  The more you do this, the easier it will be to write more useful posts.

Judging by the huge traffic your blog is receiving on a daily basis, one will assume that you’re already making a lot of money online. Isn’t it?

I’m doing very well – six figures per year.

What’s your own definition of success?

Finding something in life that allows you to use your talents to inspire, have fun and if making money comes as a result, that is a bonus.

For the benefits of my readers who loved to share from your wealth of experience. How can one be a successful blogger?

Start by realizing this is more than just about trying to make money by throwing up a blog or website.  If you don’t enjoy the full learning experience you are in trouble.  So start by digging deep and build a site on a topic that you are genuinely interested in.  It’s even more helpful when the site can be tutorial-based.

As a woman in a predominant man’s world so to speak, have you for once been intimidated by the male folk?

Not at all.  If anything it’s been an advantage because many appreciate seeing not only a minority, but a female who is in a male dominated industry.  Overall I’ve received great feedback.

What lessons have you learnt so far online?

Take your time.  This will not happen overnight.  Enjoy what you do and understand that the money will come as a result of what you enjoy.  Not the other way around.

Any word of advice for beginners/upcoming entrepreneurs?

Take the time to educate yourself on the many ways to make money online.  Everyone seems to be obsessed with blogs and Google AdSense, etc. but there are many ways to earn a good living online (sell your own products, drop shipping, eBay sellers, etc.)  Not everyone can be a good affiliate marketer.  Not everyone is a great writer so it’s important to find opportunities that match your own skills.

An Interview With A Fast Rising Entrepreneur!

I recently had an interview with one of the fastest upcoming entrepreneurs of our time, Samuel Ayodele a young Nigerian entrepreneur who came to lime-light not too long ago. Samuel is no doubt very skillful in writing and has done a good job for himself as his blog megabizflakes receives several patronages each day. Despite his success he has managed to still remain modest and humble as ever.

Almost every top sites you visit you are sure to encounter Samuel’s comment there as he is always willing to learn from anyone. Dear readers it is with great pleasure I present this promising young man to you who has suddenly made a name for himself. I present Samuel Ayodele. Enjoy!

May we meet you please! What’s your name in full?

My name is Samuel Ayodele.

Tell us a bit about your background?

I’m 20years old, I’m from Nigeria and I’m an entrepreneur. I’m from the family of four and I’m the eldest son!

When did you get to know about internet marketing?

I got to know about internet marketing at the age of 18.

How did your folks {I mean your parent, friends, colleagues, etc} take it when they heard about your new found love for online marketing?

To be candid, my parents don’t know about my blog. My friends were thrilled when I told them about it and they are also interested.

What were the mistakes you made as a beginner online?

I made a lot of mistakes; I think the common one is not spending my time wisely.

Looking at the unfavourable condition in your country, take the issue of power for instance. How were you able to survive this?

It’s not easy. I guess you can testify to that. It’s has been long you send me this interview but due to poor internet connection, poor power supply. I’ve been unable to carry out the operation.

But if I may say, I guess I’m coping and I do find a way to scale through those mess. To be candid, it isn’t easy.

Did you ever think of quitting at a time?

Hmm.. Yeah I do.

Reading the contents of your blog one will know that you’ve done a good job on it. What’s the secret of putting such a great blog together?

I think finding a way to add real value to people’s life will definitely help you break new grounds in life. I don’t just publish any content in the sake of update your blog always. Any content found on my blog are content that will add value to people’s life and mine.

That’s one of the reason I don’t accept guest post from anyhow person (I mean people who guest post for the sake of traffic and they are not on the field) I believe you can learn from people who are there before you and not people who are blabbing and never done anything.

Judging by the huge traffic your blog is receiving on a daily basis, one will assume that you’re already making a lot of money online. Isn’t it?

No, I’m not. I love the game that’s why I don’t bother myself that much about money. I do earn online but not from my blog.

What’s your own definition of success?

To me success is a gradual process; even if you fail and you never give up, it simply mean you are moving to the next step and at the same time you’re succeeding. Because the moment you quit, you’re a failure.

For the benefits of my readers who loved to share from your wealth of experience. How can one be a successful blogger?

Though my niche is not about how to be a successful blogger, but I will give them my advice- be committed, choose your teachers wisely (because the internet is full of scammers) believe in yourself and persist till you succeed.

What lessons have you learnt so far online?

I’ve learnt a lot and I’m still learning. But the lesson I cherish so much is always network with the right people and bury your pride.

Any word of advice for beginners/upcoming entrepreneurs?

Follow your guts, pay no mind to the chicken mindset (people who are always scared of trying new things or people who let the world push them around) and always persist till you succeed. And please never ever give up!

Your last note?

Always make people happy!

An Interview With Onibalusi Bamidele; An Online Whizkid

Onibalusi Bamidele is an emerging force in the internet marketing arena, he stormed the internet world around mid-last year with his popular blog called youngprepro and he’s already an household name and a force to recon with as far as blogging is concerned. Almost every site top-gun site you visit today you’re sure to encounter Onibalusi’s guest post there!

I probably guess that’s where his nickname “The guest post king” came from anyway! This is not far-fetched considering a person who wrote 270 guest posts in just 8 months. Take it or leave it the guy is very talented at what he does.

I am really very proud of this young man, I mean for what he has achieved at a very young age. It’s wonderful!

I recently caught up with him in an interview, where he’d share the story of his journey into the blogging world.

This is the excerpt;

May we meet you please! What’s your name in full?

My name is Onibalusi Bamidele. A 16 year old Nigerian entrepreneur.

Tell us a bit about your background?

I lost my father at the age of 7 and it has since been very difficult for my mom to take care of me and my siblings. I was brought up in the same environment as others and people around me tried to condition me and set standards for me – but I believe only I create my own standards, not others.

When did you get to know about internet marketing?

I first heard about the concept of internet marketing at age 13 when someone came to our church trying to lecture us about how you can make money online through forex marketing. Even though I never attended the seminar, or do anything related to forex, hearing about that seminar changed my life and it opened my eyes to the possibilities around me so I started doing my best to know all I can about making money online.

How did your folks {I mean your parent, friends, etc} take it when they heard about your new found love for online marketing?

A lot of people disagreed and they started citing examples and telling me how I can fail by focusing on internet marketing and not my school education. I believe ‘schooling’ is overestimated and it isn’t the only way to be educated, even though I have plans to further my education, I set my own rules and I didn’t let anybody discourage me. I focused on my business first and now that I’m getting results everybody want to be doing what I am doing.

What were the mistakes you made as a beginner online?

Too much reading, less action.

Looking at the unfavourable condition in your country, take the issue of power for instance. How were you able to survive this?

It’s about understanding some fundamental success secrets such as the power of leverage, you don’t need to have money to make money. I teamed up with others around me who have everything I need to succeed so it wasn’t difficult for me in the slightest.

Did you ever think of quitting at a time?

No, not once. I do it for the love of it, not the money.

I know that you didn’t just make money almost immediately you started, so when was that turning point?

Yeah, no one makes money almost immediately after starting. My turning point was in the 8 month of me blogging, it was then I got my first client, and making my first $1000 online was unbelieveable.

Reading the contents of your blog one will know that you’ve done a good job on it. What’s the secret of putting such a great blog together?

There is no secret. It is all about understanding who your audience are and why you’re blogging in the first place. Having a better knowledge of this will leave you with ONLY 2 options, either stop blogging or give it all it takes.

Judging by the huge traffic your blog is receiving on a daily basis, one will assume that you’re already making a lot of money online. Isn’t it?

I’d like you to know that traffic doesn’t equate money and I make way too much money than my traffic so it isn’t about getting much traffic but about knowing how to make money.

What’s your own definition of success?

My own definition of success is achieving whatever you set at, it doesn’t matter how great or small.

For the benefits of my readers who loved to share from your wealth of experience. How can one be a successful blogger?

Stop looking for ways to get rich quick, realize that making money online takes time, get started and give it all it takes.

What lessons have you learnt so far online?

A lot, and most of them can be discovered by reading my blog: YoungPrePro.com.

Does Your Business Have A USP?

For the purpose of those that don’t know what this means especially beginners, I would like to define what a USP really is. Now, what is a unique selling proposition popularly called USP?

A unique selling proposition{USP} is the unique benefits which you are willing to offer people{customers} who buy your products and services, sort of an advantage one has over his competitors. Your competitors are those that offer the same products and services as yours in the same industry.

For example, if you sell toothpaste in an area, you’ll discover that several other people are also selling the same toothpaste in that area. Those are your competitors! Got it?

It may surprise you to know that several business men and women today don’t even know what a USP is and some that know it don’t make use of it or don’t even know how to apply it in their businesses.

Many businesses have failed all because the owners can’t simply get it’s USP right! They keep changing their USP all the time. Most businesses have failed not because they don’t have quality services to offer but because they simply don’t have a USP. It’s a shame!

In a world of highly competitive marketplace, you can’t just build a business and fold your arms expecting customers to come and beg you for your services.

Not anymore! Not in a world where competitions is the order of the day, where one business is trying to beat the other to it’s game.

You must be able to entice, compel or persuade your customers to come to you and not the other person or else you’re just wasting your time! The truth is, You need a USP! Okay!

Now, I hope I’ve been able to convince and not to confuse you that you actually need a USP for your business. No matter how small or big your business is, you need a USP. You simply can’t imagine the benefits of a properly crafted USP.

A business without a USP is dead already waiting to be buried more like a “working dead”. If there’s anything like that!

How can I identify my USP?

I can’t simply answer that! Why? because USP varies from business to business and your USP can be anything but make sure it’s something that must be the following;

1. Services that put away their eyes off your competitors completely. An unbeatable offer!

2. Services that must add value to their life.

3. Services that your competitors don’t offer.

However there are two{2} key factors you must consider while crafting your own USP; You have to be daring and creative!

Like I said before that USP varies from business to business. For instance, if you’re into car services and your competitors are already offering up a discount of say %20 for every car purchased from them. You might want to offer a whooping %40 discount when people buy from you.

You might say! “I have not made a dime why am I bordering myself by offering such high discounts” but this is what makes you better off and makes people want to patronize you further even though you’re running into losses. Don’t look at these, look at the long term gain instead!

I assure you that people will rush to your company and buy from you without thinking twice to the extent that you recover those losses back! Why? because you’ve just offered them what your competitors don’t dare! That’s your USP!

That’s why you must be very daring as a business person and You’d be surprised with the number of sales you’ll make.

Another illustration is, if you’re into phones and accessories and you discover that your competitors are giving free sweets for every phones purchased from them.

You might want to give a free case for every handsets purchased from your store, you and I know that a case is of more worth to a phone user than sweet. Isn’t it? This will tremendously shoot up sales by %100! This is creativity. This is your USP!

Look at Coca-Cola for instance, a giant in the soft drink industry. The company is over 100 years and amidst stiff competitions these brand is still waxing strong because of it’s creativity, you’re likely to see people demand for a Coca-Cola these days instead of other ones.

Why? because they’ve got a USP! What’s the USP? I don’t know, go ask the founder. They wouldn’t tell you because It’s in the taste of the drink!

In summary, your USP may be the following;

Offering free consultation service.

Offering freebies.

Offering bonuses and incentives.

Offering discounts.

Offering low/affordable prices.

Offering a warranty/guarantee.

Offering excellent after sales service.

And so on and so forth…

Are you about starting up your own business? or you’ve started one already without a USP! Sit down, think and take your time in choosing one that’s applicable to your business. A USP that beats what your competitors are offering. An unbeatable USP!

Does your business have a USP? If yes! What is it? Share!

An Interview With Lynn Terry

I recently caught up with one of the most successful woman online, her blog tops the major search engines like Google for major keywords. I am quite surprised that despite what she has achieved, she is still very humble and “down to earth” for her to have granted me this interview.

It is an honour to present to you my friends a woman of substance, a woman who “went through fire and came out without burns”, and a woman who has seen it all as far as internet marketing is concerned. I present to you Lynn Terry!

I assure you are going to learn a great deal from this interview.

May we meet you please! What’s your name in full?

My name is Lynn Terry. I am 37 years old, a single mother of two teens, and have been in business for over 14 years. I live in the beautiful valley of the Cumberland Plateau in middle Tennessee (just SE of Nashville) and work from home full time.

Tell us a bit about your background?

I quit my last real job in 1996 to start my first business. My daughter was only 5 months old, and I was working a minimum wage job doing data entry on a Unix system. Prior to that job I had zero computer experience. I wouldn’t say I had much more than that when I left there two years later – lol.

My first business was an offline shop in partnership with my then husband, which we started on less than a shoestring budget. I got a computer and internet access (dial-up on a 96band modem back in those days!) to run the business, which is when I first got online.

When did you get to know about internet marketing?

I think I invented it. LOL – just kidding. icon wink An Interview With Lynn Terry

It was the late 90′s and computers were just becoming a household item. AOL was sending out discs and people were starting to get online. Small businesses were in the process of transitioning from paper to computer for things like inventory and accounting.

I saw the huge opportunity right away. There were very few people that knew how to operate their computers, work with the software, or get their business listed on the internet. I started a second business that same year offering computer training, classes and web design. Shortly after I had a full blown web development company with an international web team.

How did your folks {I mean your spouse, friends, colleagues, etc} take it when they heard about your new found love for online marketing?

I don’t honestly recall. Perhaps because I never took my eyes away from the computer screen that first year and totally missed the whole conversation. icon smile An Interview With Lynn Terry

What were the mistakes you made as a beginner online?

I was very focused on my service-based business those first few years, and it grew very nicely. It wasn’t until later when I was transitioning away from clients and into affiliate marketing, that I really found myself floundering a bit. The biggest mistake was having my fingers in too many pies at once. It pays to focus and stay on track with ONE business – and for that one business to be a very specific niche with a tight focus as well.

So the biggest mistake I learned from was doing too much, and all of it being too general.

What were the challenges you faced as a beginner?

There were a lot of challenges when I first got started. There was very little software, and very few guides or how-to web pages. You basically had to learn HTML to create a simple web page, and you had to learn everything on your own. I can remember learning CGI so I could customize shopping carts for my clients – all in plain text.

Did you ever think of quitting at a time?

Never! Of course, I didn’t have a choice!

A couple of years into starting the two businesses, I went through an unexpected divorce. That same year my son got very sick, so I had to work from home exclusively. I didn’t have the option of taking a job outside the home at that point, so I had to make it work. During the years he was ill is when I shut down my web dev biz and began focusing on affiliate marketing and passive income sources.

I know that you didn’t just make money almost immediately you started, so when was that turning point?

Actually, I did. My very first client paid me for my work, and paid me very well. The business was profitable from the beginning. My teen son also started online by freelancing and taking online jobs http://www.clicknewz.com/2710/online-jobs-work-from-home. That lead to his landing a very nice job *and* starting his own business, all in the same year – by the age of 19.

Reading the contents of your blog one will know that you’re such a prolific writer, what’s the secret?

I have always enjoyed writing, but to be honest I wasn’t that great of a writer when I first started blogging. I look back at some of the posts from my first year and shudder – lol. Time and practice have really helped me improve. Over time you start to get a feel for what your readers respond to best, and your personality starts to shine through naturally.

That said, one of my secrets is to write “conversationally”. I try to write as if I were talking to someone on the phone or in person.

Judging by the huge traffic your blog is receiving on a daily basis, one will assume that you’re already making a lot of money online. Isn’t it?

My blog at http://www.ClickNewz.com is actually one of my newer properties. I’ve been blogging for almost 8 years. I have a few newer niche affiliate sites that I operate under pen names, and several older sites. The majority of my online income comes from affiliate marketing. While my blog does earn money, it’s more a labor of love than a primary money-maker.

But yes, I do very well online. icon smile An Interview With Lynn Terry

What’s your own definition of success?

Having achieved financial success, I can honestly say (even to my surprise) that money was not it. Most of us grow up believing that money will solve most of life’s problems, but that’s simply not the case. Money is good, mind you – very good! But if I had to put one word on a definition of success… it would be: happiness.

For the benefits of my readers who loved to share from your wealth of experience. How can one be a successful blogger?

The key is to choose a topic you can really get into, and then blog consistently. Everything else can be fine tuned along the way, but passion and consistency are definitely the keys to blogging success.

As a woman in a predominant man’s world so to speak, have you for once been intimidated by the male folk?

I don’t see the internet as a man’s world. When I first got started back in the 90′s, the majority of the people I knew that were “making it” online were women. They weren’t gurus or experts or speakers – they were real people doing real work. I met them in discussion groups (back then, email lists).

I still know a lot of women who are very successful online, many of which have become close friends over the last decade. Very few of them blog or teach or would be known by anyone other than their friends & family – and perhaps their market, if they use their given name instead of a business name.

If there were ever a true census, I believe the world might be surprised at which gender dominates the charts by sheer numbers – not to mention, profits.

As for the Internet Marketing space, with it’s experts and gurus and speakers, yes – it’s predominantly male. And to answer your question, no – I have never felt or been intimidated by that. Personally I believe it’s by choice (on the women’s part). I can only speak for myself, but I have no desire to be “on the circuit”. I am quite happy quietly working from home and running a successful online business.

The men are quite nice, by the way – and would love to have more women speaking and creating high-end products. It’s a wide open market, and I have never personally seen any real gender issues.

What lessons have you learned so far online?

The biggest lesson I have learned is that every single click, every comment, every email… comes from a real live person on the other side of the screen. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of my readers in person over the years, which really helped to put a face to those metrics.

When you start to see keywords as real people searching for real answers, and clicks as real people with real interest, it changes the way you market your websites. In a very good way.

Any word of advice for beginners/upcoming entrepreneurs?

My advice would be to see it as a business opportunity. It’s not a slot machine or a lottery – or a way to get rich quick. It takes time and it takes hard work to start any type of business – online is no different. The opportunities are endless for true entrepreneurs that are willing to invest in their future.

Your last note?

Thank you for this interview, Joseph! and thank you for those that read all the way through. It was fun sharing some of my life and experience with you! I hope that you’ve gained a little something that will inspire or encourage you, or help you take your business to the next level. *cheers* ~Lynn

yahoo2 300x188 How I Ranked Number One In Major Search Engines In Less Than A Month!
msn2 300x206 How I Ranked Number One In Major Search Engines In Less Than A Month!
In this article, I will reveal to you the secret of my achievements. Well pay attention as am about to share with you my success story in the succeeding paragraphs.

Listen to this words of wisdom; Getting to the top is not a child’s play, it’s takes a lot of effort and sacrifice to attain success. However, there are some factors that would bring about these successes.

One major factor which has help fastrack the level of exposure of my blog is no other than Seo{search engine optimization}.

The truth is, Seo is actually the secret behind my success. It has helped launch me out into the online world in a short time, what could have taken other blogs to achieve in years I have achieved in just few days.

You’ll agree with me that getting to the top of search engine listing especially Google isn’t easy at all much less in just few days!

Thanks to books by Brad Callen and Jonathan Leger which taught me all the rudiments of Seo.

The truth is, to be a complete blogger or webmaster you’ll actually need some basic training in Seo especially in the area of content update where you need to update your blog every time.

You wouldn’t want to outsource every time you need fresh articles for your blog, would you? It saves you time and money looking for Seo experts to write your articles which might not really meet your taste!

Knowing Seo has greatly impacted on my subconscious mind, what I meant is that I don’t just write for my readers only but also for the search engines to understand my “language”. I must be able to communicate with them in their language for me to be well received!

Don’t get me wrong, am not advocating for webmasters that write bunch of codes for search engines which are entirely meaningless for humans.

No! No! No! I mean you should learn to write in such a way that your readers will enjoy your write-up and also search engines will thank you for a well optimized article! So, an article good for the “machines” and good for the humans is my kind of article.

This is the article that gets your blog to the top of search engine listings in such a short time! A search engine optimized article; good for the “readers” and good for the “spiders” as well!

One cool software which has also helped the overnight success of my blog is a popular and powerful wordpress plugin called the “All in one Seo”.

Almost every wordpress site uses this awesome plugin because it’s very powerful such that it’ll help rank your site by allowing you to give it’s title, description and keyword. To be sincere with you folks this plugin has really worked for me. Cool plugin isn’t it?

Although many people has complained about the effectiveness of this plugin to me it’s absolutely fine ‘cos it has work well for me.

What I Went Through Online As A Beginner!

If I tell you what I went through before actually finding my footing online you’ll pity my condition even though I don’t want you to pity my status but I want you to learn “one or two” things from what I went through. Here is my story!

I got to know about internet marketing in 2006{ that’s five years ago now} when I attended a forex seminar in my country{Nigeria} which I later jettisoned due to lack of funds because hey! you’ll need huge capital to do forex trading.

So I abandoned that, I was going to the cybercafe{that’s the Nigerian language for internet browsing centers} frequently to check mails and majorly chat with friends. You know! Everybody likes chatting especially youths that’s why facebook is hottest right now!

Then I got to know about an advertising program that supposedly pays me what you’ll refer to as “peanuts” for clicking on some ads{this is called PTC/PTR} but there’s this particular PTC site called link2communion that captivated me then, it says “make $2800 for clicking on ads” Wow!

So I looked at it and said to myself “This must be a quick way of making money online” and I went for it and was burned, I got burnt in the sense that I lost my hard earned $20 due to my ignorance as a beginner. unknowingly to me this was actually one out of the numerous scam site online!

Later on I went into other areas like surveys, payperpost, cpa, affiliate marketing, dataentry, and the likes. There’s no aspect of internet marketing have not tested.

I have tried it all but none have given me financial independence! Why? because I wasn’t doing the right thing as I always looking for quicker ways of making money online. Typical of a beginner who believes money fly around online like leaves falling from a tree.

I remember when I was trying out affiliate marketing then, I would search for any product{whether low quality or not}, get the affiliate link and start promoting just like that!

Telling people to buy! buy! buy! and at the end of the day nobody would even look at what am selling twice. Why are people not buying because I was “hard selling” but of-course I didn’t know this as a beginner and had no one to tell me!

Later on, I discovered blogging through wordpress, then I created a back pain blog with it which was doing fine but was not giving me the kind of money I had expected because I was impatient and greedy so I drop it.

Much later I discovered Google’s blogger as well! In less than few days I had learned to use the interface due to it’s simplicity.

I created several blogs with it on various topics but there’s these particular one that I maintained even up till now the blog still exists, it was on back pain. I called it www.backspains.blogspot.com a very informative blog on back pain that educate the minds of the average back pain sufferer.

The major driving force was just to help beginners coming in online because I discovered of all the blogs and websites we have online there is no one that is centered around new entrepreneurs.

The truth is online “nobody wants to assist anybody”, that’s the mentality people has, everyone wants to make money at the expense of the other person. Just like the saying goes “every man for himself and God for us all”.

So if you are a beginner online and hoping to footing, the first thing you want to do is get information by reading anything from books to articles to newsletters, etc because information is power. So that you don’t fall into wrongs hands who will take advantage of your innocence.

Remember this is a site that’s genuinely designed to help beginners make money online today!
